StartUP FIU FOOD is a cooperative effort with the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management to leverage a state of the art commercial kitchen to develop food entrepreneurs from the LMI community. This program is supported by a grant from Citi Foundation of $500,000.
StartUP FIU FOOD is designed for business owners with aspirations of growth but with limited resources. Candidates must establish a commitment to scale their business and create jobs within their community.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Be an owner/co-owner of a business
In operation for less than two years
Business must have a minimum of two team members (including the owner)
StartUP FIU FOOD has developed a Membership Program for food entrepreneurs with a desire to learn, network, and grow. FEED will provide food entrepreneurs access to Group Mentor Sessions, Monthly Financial Labs, Focus Group Sessions and more.
In Spring of 2018, StartUP FIU FOOD will offer a 3-month non-degree certification program in Finance or Marketing & Branding for local food entrepreneurs. You’ll gain industry-specific business training and have access to Group Mentor Sessions, Monthly Financial Labs, Focus Group Sessions and more.
