Andrew Pompa

Director of Entrepreneurship

Andrew Pompa is the Director of Entrepreneurship at StartUP FIU, where he leads teams and oversees programs with an emphasis on student and social entrepreneurship.

Previously at Akerman, a top 100 U.S. law firm, Andrew worked closely with firm leadership to launch and lead AkermanX, an initiative to drive national, firm-wide innovation using lean and design thinking to help shape the lawyer and law firm of the future while bringing new legal solutions to market. During these years, Akerman was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the most forward thinking and socially responsible law firms in North America.

Andrew has been committed to and active in the Miami community, working closely with change-makers and entrepreneurial impact ventures across industry sectors. He has served as a board member of Radical Partners, Nu Deco Ensemble, the Nyah Project, and Transit Alliance Miami, and was a member of the inaugural Wynwood Design Review Committee. He was selected by the Knight Foundation to join a cohort of ten Miami leaders to attend Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program in 2017. Andrew earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his bachelor’s degree in political science from Emory University.
