StartUP FIU Local is a program that helps local small businesses grow their companies. We do this by forging strong community partnerships and delivering comprehensive, inclusive education tailored to small business entrepreneurs. By bringing together tangible resources, industry-specific specialists, and thoughtfully-designed educational programming, we provide a wide range of services for entrepreneurs to support and grow their micro businesses for no cost.
As the global pandemic created an unprecedented need for more support at the community level, our team acted swiftly to provide additional assistance to these entrepreneurs in real time. StartUP FIU Local is the result of combining the talent and resources of StartUP FIU Food and StartUP FIU Procurement. Now, we serve entrepreneurs from multiple industries – including, but not limited to, food. We have also added new business strategies in addition to anchor procurement opportunities, to better support our local small business entrepreneurs.
Utilizing the knowledge and experience we gained during the pandemic, our team continues to use industry best-practices to guide small businesses through the recovery process, help them access and leverage FIU’s unique resources and industry experts, implement cutting-edge technology, and tap into our robust network of partnerships.
