The Risk + Resilience Tech Hub (RRTH) is focused on accelerating the adoption of innovative infrastructure technologies that strengthen long-term performance and resiliency. While new materials and methods continue to emerge, their integration into practice is shaped by the systems that guide how infrastructure is designed, specified, and delivered. For this reason, our infrastructure team is engaging in policy as a critical pathway to impact—working to better align codes, standards, and specifications with the realities of innovation.

As a first step, RRTH has developed a policy gap analysis that explores how existing frameworks function in practice and where there may be opportunities to better support the evaluation and use of new materials and construction approaches. The analysis is grounded in concrete, given its foundational role in infrastructure, while also surfacing insights that are broadly applicable across materials and systems. It provides a starting point for more coordinated, evidence-informed approaches to advancing infrastructure innovation.
